The Sacramento Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions Working Group (SacBDS) was formed in 2009 to initiate and support local peaceful endeavors in Sacramento, California to end the human rights violations being committed against the Palestinian people.

SacBDS’s goal is to pressure Israel to comply with international law and stop its violations of the human rights of the Palestinian people by:

1. Ending its deadly siege and blockade against Gaza;

2. Ending its occupation and colonization of Palestine’s West Bank, including dismantling the separation wall;

3. Giving the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel full equality, including the same rights, benefits and access to land as all other Israeli citizens; and

4. Honoring the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and lands.

SacBDS supports efforts to end U.S. monetary aid and political support for Israel until Israel complies with international law and stops violating the rights of the Palestinian people as specified above.   As a nation-state, Israel should be held accountable to the same international humanitarian and legal standards as any other country.

SacBDS members are a diverse group of individuals who strongly support the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  We come from Jewish, Christian, Muslim and other religious and secular backgrounds. We strongly oppose discrimination for or against anyone on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, political or religious identification in our community and in how our nation deals with other nations and peoples.

SacBDS works with other local, state, national and international non-governmental organizations engaged in peaceful means to promote human rights and end Israel’s violation of the rights of the Palestinian people.
