The Israel lobby and its affiliates are trying to shut down those who support rights for Palestinians and demand that Israel stop violating international law and human rights. These efforts include attempts to claim that criticizing Israel is anti-Jewish and that the non-violent tools of boycott and divestment should not be allowed to pressure Israel to make changes.
Take action:
1) Tell your California Assemblymembers to speak out and vote against SCR 35, another thinly veiled attempt to label criticism of Israel as anti-Jewish in order to silence students at University of California and California State University campuses who are working to end their schools’ complicity with the Israeli government’s egregious, well-documented violations of human rights and international law. Click to find your Assemblymember and their contact information.
2) Tell the U.C. Regents that criticizing Israel is NOT anti-Semitic. At their July 22-23 2015 meeting, the Regents will be considering adopting a definition that equates criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism – tell them no! Email: President Janet Napolitano [email protected] & Board of Regents [email protected]. Sign the petition to tell UC President Napolitano and the UC Regents: criticizing Israel is not anti-Semitic.
3) Sign the petition to tell John Kerry to revise the State Department’s definition of anti-Semitism.
4) Tell your Congressional representatives, senators and President Obama to oppose any attempts, including legislation, resolutions, or amendments to trade agreements, that seek to curtail or restrict the non-violent tools of boycott and divestment from companies that profit from Israel’s human rights abuses.
